Where are your quilts made?
All our quilts are handmade in home studios across the United States. We work with talented independent quilters and seamstresses in Ohio, Minnesota, Maine, Washington D.C., Florida, and Illinois who make each quilt by hand from start to finish. Learn more about our team and how we work here.
How long will it take to receive my order?
We make everything to order just for you, with the exception of our one-of-a-kind or ready-to-ship pieces. The production time for quilts and quilt coats is 4 - 6 weeks and 2 - 3 weeks for pillows and wall quilts. You’ll receive an email with tracking info as soon as your order is finished and on the way!
Can I wash my quilt?
Yes! Most of our quilted goods are machine washable. Check out our Care page for specific instructions on how to care for each quilted product.
Do you offer personalization?
We offer the option of adding a short complimentary hand embroidered message to the back corner of our quilts. There’s a 20 character limit - the perfect length for initials, a special date, or a love note. Include the message in “Notes to Vacilando” when adding the quilt to your cart.
How do i hang my quilt on the wall?
Smaller wall quilts come with a wooden dowel, so all you need is a hammer and a nail to rest the dowel on. Check out our tutorial on how to hang a wall quilt.
For larger wall quilts with a hanging sleeve, we recommend purchasing a wooden dowel (round or flat) that’s about the same width as your quilt. Most home improvement or hardware stores sell them and can cut them to length for you. If you don’t want the dowel to be visible, cut it down to be 1” - 2” smaller than the width of your quilt. To hang on the wall, you can either hammer two nails into the wall and rest the dowels on the nails or screw two screw eyes into each flat end of the dowel and hammer a nail through the eye into the wall.
How do I figure out my quilt coat size?

Do you take custom orders?
We are currently taking commissions for custom quilts at this time - we love working with clients and interior designers to create custom pieces for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. Fill out a Custom Request Form on our CUSTOM page.
What carrier do you ship with?
We ship USPS Priority for everything except queen and king size quilts, which will ship FedEx Ground. Once your order is in the mail, you’ll receive an email with tracking information and your package will usually arrive within 2 - 3 business days.

Do you accept returns?
We accept returns of items in their original condition for a refund, exchange, or store credit. Please email hello@vacilandostudios.com within 7 days of receiving your order with your return request.
For exchanges, we’ll send you a complementary USPS return label. Once we receive the item, your replacement order will be added to the queue with the standard production time for the item.
For a refund, you’ll receive a shipping address to send the item to. The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping and providing us with a tracking number. A full refund will be issued once the item is received and inspected.
Custom and sale items cannot be returned.
IS your Packaging recyclable?
We’re proud to ship our quilts in completely plastic-free packaging. We use recyclable cardboard, eco-friendly kraft tape, 100% recycled kraft mailers, 100% recycled cotton tote bags, and paper packaging materials that are made to be easily recycled.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Afterpay is a payment option that allows you to pay for your purchase in four interest-free installments (due every two weeks). Always zero interest, never additional fees when you pay on time. You’ll know if you’re approved instantly and your order will ship as usual.
Do you offer fabric swatches?
Yes we do! You can order fabric samples of any quilt design in our shop here.
Do you sell your quilt patterns?
Our passion lies in designing and making beautiful, useful objects for your home, so we don’t plan to sell the patterns for most of our designs to the public.
However, we do have a select handful of quilt patterns and a book of 20 patterns available through our sister brand, Simple Geometric Quilting — check out www.simplegeometricquilting.com for more information.
Where can I buy your book?
You can purchase signed copies of Simple Geometric Quilting on our sister site, www.simplegeometricquilting.com. You can also find Laura’s book on Amazon, Book Depository, Barnes & Nobles, and wherever books are sold.
