THAILAND COLLECTION

The Thailand Collection is inspired by a two-week adventure through thailand. It celebrates the RICH culture, awe-inspiring architecture, honed craftsmanship, and welcoming people of this VIBRANT country.

Exploration

I spent two weeks traveling through Thailand in January 2019, visiting Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Krabi. I had wanted to explore Southeast Asia for over a decade. There’s something about the vibrant colors, the deeply rooted traditions, the lush tropical climate, not to mention the bold cuisine that felt so exciting to me. Everything about that part of the world seemed so different, so novel, and so full of adventure compared to the familiar place I called home, which perhaps was the most appealing part.

INSPIRATION

The markets, the architecture, the streets, the people, the craftsmanship, the landscape: it was all inspiring and exciting to experience for the very first time. Every moment was a sensory overload - colorful and vibrant, with an orderly chaos that was at the same time relaxed and nonchalant. What I took away from my short time in Thailand was a deep respect for the warm, welcoming people, an admiration for the culture, and a strong desire to return.

This collection, much like my travels through Thailand, pushed me far outside of my comfort zone and tested my limits as an artist and as a human being. From incorporating bright new colors like fuschia and metallic gold, to using new angular shapes, to making the top stitching more of a design feature, this collection feels like growth, adventure, and a celebration of the vibrancy of Southeast Asia
